wonderful world of window boxes

Spring is in the air-well, kinda-and with the warmer temperatures, I have landscaping on the brain.  Next month, before the humidity gets too high, I’m completely re-doing the landscaping in the front of our home.  While that’s one way to increase your curb appeal, it’s certainly not the easiest or the cheapest (in my defense, my need for instant gratification is one of my weak spots). 

One of the best and least expensive ways to boost your home’s “wow factor” is with window boxes.  Lowe’s, Home Depot or your local nursery carry tons of shapes and sizes, and if you can’t find what you want in the store, head online for some great options, as well.  No idea what kind of flowers or plants to use?  Take some inspiration from these shots of gorgeous window boxes I snapped on my last trip to Charleston (sorry for the quality; took these before I got my mighty Nikon):
