Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:34AM A good friend of mine recently asked me to come aboard and help with the renovation of the living room and kitchen of her 1960's rancher. Like us, they are military and will more than likely not be in the house much longer than four or five years, but the kitchen is in some serious need of updating and, since kitchens and bathrooms are what sell homes, they are going to gut it now so they can enjoy it. This is a bit of a rush job, as she is expecting twins in a few months, but thankfully, the homeowner has exquisite taste and knows exactly what she wants!
We're going with white Shaker-style cabinetry, dark gray quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash and walnut, wide-plank hardwood floors - clean, crisp and classic.
