I can't believe we're already almost through the first full week of August! This summer has certainly flown by and, while I know it will be a few more months, at least, until we get some relief from this heat and humidity, I'm soaking up all the summer I can. Here are a few of my favorite things this summer:
I've blogged about artist Clare Elsaesser and her Etsy shop, TastesOrangey, before and have fallen in love with her charming, whimsical prints, that also happen to be pretty reasonably priced. Clare has an amazing selection of beautiful pieces and can be commissioned for custom pieces, as well, but this one has always been my favorite:
One of the guests at my brother's engagement party a few weeks ago was sporting the most amazing gold monogram necklace. I coveted it so bad, I was searching for a similar one on my phone before the night was over and found this one! It's simple, classic and oh-so-beautiful...perfect with jeans and a tee or a fun summer dress:
I'm such a sucker for a fabulous navy and white printed fabric and this one from Katherine Rally Textiles has been on my radar for a while:
I thought Nathan Turner was adorable on Million Dollar Decorators, but I especially loved the eclectic, laid back, Bohemian flair with which he threw parties on the show. After seeing his Malibu house in the latest issue of Elle Decor, I love his casual, classic beachy style even more. I can't wait to flip through his new book, Nathan Turner's American Style: Classic Design and Effortless Entertaining:
I'm on the hunt for the perfect camel-colored bag that is spacious enough for my seemingly never-ending stash of paint fandecks, fabric swatches and you wouldn't believe what else gets jammed into my bag on a daily basis. This Vintage Revival Satchel just screams, "BUY ME!" I love the handle as well as the cross-body strap and the color is delicious:
I'm still a huge fan of my Bobbi Brown bronzer, but recently, while in Philadelphia, my cousin got me to try her liquid bronzer by Fresh. It's super light and makes you look radiant...just a hint of color, not orange or brown. I love it:
