figless manor

If you've ever perused the New York Times Best Seller's List, chances are you've seen a book or two by British fiction author Jane Green.  I recently stumbled upon pictures of her home online and had heart palpitations, it was so gorgeous!  Raised in London and armed with a love for old homes and buildings with a strong sense of history, Jane and her husband decided to build an new "old" house for them and their six children near the beach.  Designed and decorated entirely by Jane, it's quite clear from the first peek inside that she definitely has a knack for mixing antiques with one-of-a-kind finds and classic, timeless pieces that will never go out of style. Casual, oversize furniture, lots of layered natural textures and a soothing color palette create a cozy and comfortable space, beckoning you to sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of tea.  Check it out:

First up, the family room - white slipcovered couches, a reclaimed wood plank, coffered ceiling and black window casings...be still my heart!

It's open to the fabulous kitchen:

A closeup of that fabulous fireplace and surround:

A mix of antiques and blue and white pottery on a beautiful antique table:

The kitchen is most often the heart of the home and what a beauty this one is!  Soft gray cabinetry, open shelving, a ginormous farmhouse table and fabulous glass pendant lights are amazing....

The dining room is my personal favorite...French doors, lots of natural light, beautiful molding and wall-to-wall built-in bookshelves that house an extensive book collection.  Breathtaking...

Soft blues and creams abound in the master bedroom:

The exterior is just as beautiful as the interior...love the pergola and stone terrace, perfect for dining outdoors:

I love the beautiful wicker furniture-what a great continuation of the inside!
