designer love: marie-christine kresse

If it weren’t for my occasional bouts of insomnia, I would never discover half of the goodies I find online while the rest of the world is getting their beauty sleep.  Take, for example, the most adorable Amagansett beach cottage I found the other night – after some digging, I discovered it was the work of interior decorator and custom furniture designer Marie-Christine Kresse – one look at her design portfolio and I was instantly smitten!  She blends white walls and slipcovered furniture beautifully with warm antique wood furniture, iron accents and lots of texture for a look that is modern, a touch industrial and effortlessly timeless:

French doors leading out to a beautiful, brick patio – all the white inside is a peek at the lovliness that is to come in this beach cottage:

Black slate floors, a beadboard ceiling, antique lantern and farmhouse table compliment each other perfectly and create bold contrast in this sunroom/porch:

White is anything but boring in this living room, thanks to a planked ceiling, lots of natural light and an oversize jute rug to warm it up and give it lots of texture and interest:

Another classic example of why white kitchens with NEVER go out of style; grasscloth walls, leather seating and a bold black and white chevron rug are stunning in this seating area:

Slipcovered Parsons chairs, an antique farmhouse table and an iron chandelier are casual, but sophisticated in this dining room:

Brass accents brighten a small vignette:

That metal table base and glass ball chandelier…be still my heart!

Love this chunky vanity and square sinks:

Here are my picks for creating a similar look:

Slipcovered parsons chair / Chandelier / Coffee table / Slipcovered sofa / Dining table

Tripod lamp / Side table / Hydrangeas / Sconce / Pillow
