beautifully displayed: jessie short

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  With this glorious fall weather that has finally arrived I was sad to see ours come to an end, but I can’t think of a better way to kick off the start of a new week than with some gorgeous eye candy!  Jamie Meares posted a tour of Jessie Short’s new Raleigh abode and I can’t tell you how many times I went back to sneak a peek of her beautiful home over the weekend! I’m so drawn to how beautifully everything is displayed and layer after layer of vintage finds, an impressive blue and white ginger jar collection and old photographs.  It feels so cozy and welcoming.  While I’m usually drawn to a more masculine feel, I am enamored with all the feminine touches (the monogrammed bed linens and the gorgeous wall covering in the master bedroom have me swooning!)  The fact that she and her husband just recently moved into this house AND she has a little under one is enough to put most of us to shame with our own decorating pursuits…

These bookshelves are like a breath of fresh air; blue and white ginger jars and black and white photos look so fresh against the crisp white paint:

More blue and white beauties mingle with family photos on an antique secretary:

The wall covering in the master bedroom is divine:

A pair of leopard pillows adds a bold, feminine touch to a lovely camel back sofa in the living room:

Beautiful bedside details:

I love the dog painting:

A brass barcart looks smashing against rich green walls:

Almost everything in Jessie’s home is an estate sale or Craigslist find, so big box retailers can’t really compare to the charm of older pieces, but here are a few picks to help you get a similar look and feel:

Platter / Settee / Pillow / Candle / Tortoise ice bucket / Benjamin Moore Great Barrington Green

Brass bar cart / Mirror / Blue and white lamp

Happy Monday!

I'm dying over that bedroom! I'm sure the wall covering is WAY out of my budget, but a girl can dream right?

I also loved reading the post on I Suwannee! She has such great, classic style. Also, love the pieces you pulled together to get the look 🙂
