light my fire

There are two things, in my opinion, that completely make a room-the icing on the cake, if you will.  One is window treatments and the other is fabulous lighting.  You can get away without all the other little details as long as you have both - the right lighting fixture and flowing window panels soften a space and create a warm, inviting environment.  Last week a client and I hit one of my favorite local lighting jaunts to pick fixtures for her dining room and kitchen.  Though we flipped through every catalogue imaginable, I kept coming back to the latest from Quorum.  Just because you're working on a budget, which, let's face it, most of us are, doesn't mean you have to settle for ugly, run-of-the-mill lighting.  Quorum has beautiful options and are surprisingly super affordable.  Here are a few that jumped out at me:

The Telluride collection is my latest obsession.  It's the most expensive out of all the fixtures I loved, but I just had to include it because it is simply breathtaking!  Reclaimed hardwood body, oil rubbed bronze detailing and teardrop shape are gorgeous:

The Ashford comes in at a close second:

They have a bevy of beautiful reproduction French antique chandeliers that are STUNNING, including Salento:

and La Maison:

The Anatola is a beautiful cast iron alternative:
