design finds: blue + white + lots of texture

I can't think of a fresher color combination than blue and white to brighten up the gloomiest month of the  year and, thanks to the bevy of great home decor sales going on right now, so many things on my radar are super budget-friendly, too!  Now, you know I couldn't do a roundup of some blue and white pretties without also including some texture and a little brass to warm things up a bit, so here are a few picks I'm loving lately; everything here, with the exception of the chair and sconce, is less than $100 and some items are well below!

Chair / Garden stool / Throw blanket / Basket / Pillow / Ridge vase / Hand towels /

Marble planter / Marble lamps /Wall sconce / Kooboo tray /

How gorgeous is this chair?  I'm not sure if I love it more for its lines or for its pricepoint!

Obsessed with these ridge vases; they're equally as breathtaking with blooms or on their own on a side table of bookshelf.  So much texture and interest!

LOVE this ribbon trim pillow, but would definitely have to remove the tassels before my little hurricanes (accidentally) did!

I just gave a set of these hand towels to a friend as a housewarming present and they were a huge hit!

This blue and white chinoiserie garden stool is gorgeous in person and, at $64, almost unbelievably priced!

I never met a rattan tray that I didn't like; this is pretty similar to the one I use to corale my oils and salt and pepper in my kitchen!

Really into marble everything right now, including this pair of blue and white lamps for $140 (FOR TWO!!!) and this planter.

My love for stripes runs deep; seriously considering two of these blue and white striped throws to wrap around chair cushions in my living room.  At $27 a pop, they're a steal!

This basket is small - 13 by 14 inches - but would work for holding crayons, as a makeshift utensil holder, or even a planter!

I'm in love with these sconces and am considering two for above the daybed in Luca's room.  LOVE.

What's on your radar lately?

fab finds for less than $50

I'm always on the hunt for beautiful decorative accessories that add that perfect finishing touch without breaking the bank, so I thought I would highlight some of my favorite sources for lovely pieces on a budget.  While I always like to first check out thrift and antique stores for unique pieces, there are a few retail shops that never let me down and have a great variety of goodies at the perfect price point: $50 or less.  Mark and Graham, C Wonder, High Street Market, West Elm are a few of my favorites.  Here are a few steals I'm loving lately; with Mother's Day right around the corner, any of these items would be a perfect gift idea!

These ceramic bamboo vases are absolutely stunning! They would look amazing filled with bright pink or coral blooms or cooking utensils in the kitchen!

An oversize gold wishbone means lots of luck and adds a chic touch to bookshelves and coffee tables.

A gorgeous straw basket is perfect for the beach or running errands.

I love the texture and nautical touch of this jute rope wrapped mirror.  It's a much more affordable version of a similar one at Pottery Barn and adds just the same amount of drama!

Gold-painted resin coral.  Need I say more?

Technically, this outdoor pillow is $53, but for an additional three bucks, I just had to include it on my list.  It comes in a bunch of different colors and with a triple monogram and jute braid cording, it's the perfect accessory for your porch or patio!

I don't know of anyone who wouldn't LOVE letterpress anchor note cards with gold edging - these are fabulous!

I've been ordering this wicker serving set for a while now; it's the perfect touch to a Spring or Summer dinner party.  Make sure to pick up the matching cheese knives, too!

elegantouch

January is always the gloomiest month of the year for me and with all the Christmas decorations boxed back up, the house has a tendency to look, well...empty.  Anytime I'm looking to spruce up a room for a client or even myself, one of the first things I always turn to is swapping out throw pillows to add a pop of color, texture or even just a breath of fresh air to a tired space.  I'm always on the lookout for affordable, high end designer custom pillows so I was thrilled to have landed on Elegantouch's etsy shop!  Not only are her pillow covers super affordable, but she has a pretty impressive variety of designer fabrics to choose from (her Greek key trimmed pillows are stunning!)  Here are a bevy of beauties from her collection that I'm loving:

great fall finds for less than $50

It's pouring and humid outside - on a day when I most need to be out and about, so today I thought I'd share some fabulous Fall finds that are high on style and won't break your piggy bank!

Of all the fall scents out there, pumpkin is, hands down, my favorite and this pumpkin chai candle will have your house smelling absolutely divine!

And speaking of divine....this cream and ivory velvet backed houndstooth pillow is the perfect way to add a little Fall color and softness to your sofa, bed or arm chair.

This wood and leather strap mirror is the perfect addition to a gallery wall or hung inside built-ins.

West Elm is king of the softest throws at the most affordable price - I'm loving the thick stripes and subtle colors of these favorite throws!

I love all things brass or gold...this large wishbone is the perfect addition to bookshelves, ottoman trays or side tables for just a little glam.

Charcoal and gold are two of my favorite color combos for Fall and I'm loving the dark gray hues in this set of four agate coasters with gold trim!

Love the intricate detailing on this gold mirrored tray.

I love using wooden boards in place of platters for entertaining and this cheese board is as practical as it is whimsical - bonus points for monogramming!

rug roundup

There are a few key items that really tie a room together and make it feel complete - for me, they happen to be window treatments, fabulous lighting and, of course... rugs!  Area rugs define a space, add warmth and are a great way to infuse a little color and personal style to your room.  I've always been a fan of seagrass rugs for their durability and texture, but lately, I'm especially loving them layered with patterned contemporary rugs on top.  RugsUSA and Home Decorators are two great sources-here are a few great finds at even better prices!

You can never go wrong with stripes and you can't beat the price of this black and white beauty from Ikea - and it's finally back in stock!

Love a good chevron?  These three have my mouth watering!

I will never get tired of trellis rugs.  This one comes in a ton of colorways-here are my top three favorites:

It took a while for me to jump on the ikat bandwagon a few years back, but I wasted no time falling in love with this wool ikat rug!  I am dying for a client to take the plunge (hint, hint fabulous clients!):

Wool medalion dhurries are casual yet stunning, with just enough pattern and color to add a pop to a neutral space:

I love, love, LOVE the Souk Rug by West Elm-it's super soft underfoot and looks amazing in any space.  If you like to switch your rugs for the season, this beauty should be gracing your floors this Fall and Winter!

Happy Shopping!
