ralph lauren paint is back at home depot!

The day Home Depot stopped carrying Ralph Lauren paint in order to make room for Martha Stewart's line was, indeed, a sad one for me.  They had the most brilliant, saturated color palettes in every beautiful color from soft whites to the deepest, darkest, moodiest of blues.  Hoarding their paint swatches was the best part of trips there and their seasonal design folders carried a multitude of inspiration for more than just paint!  I was especially disappointed when it came time to paint Baby Girl's crib because I knew Champagne Toast was the ONLY color that would give me the look I was going for in her nursery - so much so that I ended up driving TWO HOURS to the nearest specialty paint store just for a gallon!  So, I'm especially excited to see that Home Depot is once again carrying their line!  Here's a peek at some of their latest inspiration:

The colors in their Harbor Blues and Atlantic Light collections are so dreamy:

And I'm LOVING their Indigo Denim faux paint techinque...a less expensive, DIY version of blue grasscloth wallpaper, perhaps?  Isn't is stunning??

Check out Home Depot and Ralph Lauren Paint for more colors and inspiration.

Have a wonderful weekend!

grasscloth in the kitchen

I love grasscloth for a myriad reasons - it adds warmth, texture and tons of character to any space but, above all else, I love it because it's just so darn pretty! I'm not sure how practical it may be to hang it in a kitchen (I'm a messy cook and find it hard enough to keep white subway tile clean!), but when I saw how amazing it looked in this Connecticut home, it stopped me in my tracks!  Paired with glassfront cabinetry, crisp white beadboard and that stunning, gray and cream hand-painted floor - perfection!

Here are  my picks for creating a similar look at home:

Would you hang grasscloth wallpaper in the kitchen?

twice as nice

It's another manic day, and I've had nothing but computer issues all morning, so before I lose my mind, I wanted to share a gorgeous beach home designed by the wonderfully talented interior design firm, Black and Poole.  Founder Gretchen Kubiak definitely became a girl after my own heart when she designed a Victorian in Cape May, New Jersey, and covered the walls in black paint and grasscloth!  It's such a refreshing change to see a beach home in darker colors:

White moulding ledges look crisp against black walls and highlight art and coral beautifully:

Keeping accessories neutral and light helps keep the overall feeling calm, despite dark walls:

I posted the following dining room in a previous post, but I can't get enough!  The blue/black walls, antique brass chandelier and warm wood furniture is very reminiscent of East Coast yacht club, but here it's warm and inviting:

LOVE the rope tie backs:

Grasscloth + brass fixtures = happiness:
