a few things on my radar for spring

I'm walking around like a zombie the last few days, partly because Luca is still not sleeping well but also because the hubby and I have not been able to get the littles to bed fast enough so we can make a cocktail and binge watch as many episodes as possible of Breaking Bad.  I have no idea how we went this long without watching the show, but we are hooked!  So, besides whether Walter is going to get busted or not, I've also got some pretties on my mind lately - in the form of rattan, tortoise and, of course, blue and white goodness.  Perfect for spring(or any other time of the year, really).  Here are a few things giving me heart palpitations lately:

Bamboo serveware / South Seas Coffee Table / Lumbar pillow / Ginger jar / Print / Double old fashioneds

These bamboo serving pieces would be a beautiful addition to my new flatware.

Serena and Lily just made my dreams come true with this rattan coffee table - proof that style and kid-friendly can go hand in hand!

Still on the hunt for a topiary that I can't kill.

Would love a pair of these blue and white lumbar pillows for my living room.

You can never have too many blue and white ginger jars; love the print on this one!

Love this ship print for a powder room or child's room!

My husband gave me a set of these gold-rimmed tortoise double old fashioneds for our anniversary and I'm completely obsessed!

What are you loving lately?

natural wonders

It's 95 degrees outside with humidity hovering right around 90% and yet, every retailer I see is jamming their shop full of Halloween, Thanksgiving and even Christmas decor - what. the. heck.  Every year, it seems to start earlier and earlier (and yet I don't recall anyone selling summer goodies in February when we could really use the cheering up!) We've still got a ways to go down here in the south until we get a reprieve from the heat and some of my favorite things - wicker, rattan, bamboo, seagrass and brass - are what I'm feeling as we hold on to the last few weeks/months of summer.  From a giant clam bowl and my favorite bamboo flatware (both of which are on sale!!)  to the most amazing smelling candle and a jute rug that has had me all heart eyes, everything on my list is not only beautiful but adds great texture and interest!

Giant clam bowl / Beach candle by Nest / Bamboo picture frames / Jute circles rug /

Brass anchor door knocker / South Seas Side Cart / Star fruit vases / Seagrass basket

Bamboo flatware / Bamboo vase / Straw tote / Avalon daybed / Sea sponge fingers / Rattan chair

Have a wonderful weekend!

adorable seating for the kiddos that blend in with any decor

I've been on the hunt for some pint-sized seating for Lydia to keep in our living room that is comfy enough to for her to relax in but that also doesn't stick out like a sore thumb from the rest of my decor.  Call me crazy, but I get enough "pops of color" from baskets of toys, books and puzzles everywhere to want to keep a little bit of calm to all the toy craziness!  There are a ton of super stylish options out there that I realized this wouldn't be a difficult endeavor to find one that I loved.  Here is a roundup of seating for the kiddos that are as chic as they are practical - I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on buying the petite rattan beauty from Wisteria, and how amazing is that mini ghost chair?  Which one is your favorite?

Petit Rattan Chair / Ghost Chair / Metal Chair / Hanging Rattan Chair /

Mini Chesterfield Chair / Bench / Woven Bucket Chair / Alseda Stool

Tabouret Stacking Chairs / Madeline Chair / Woven Accent Chair / Newport Lounger

Have a great weekend!

natural wonder

I don't know about you guys, but these hot summer months always have me itching to paint my entire house bright white and fill it with nothing but seagrass, sisal, raffia, jute, rattan and wicker goodness with a little capiz shell, chunks of coral and black agate sprinkled in for good measure.  For me, it's not only how you pull off an all-white interior but it's also the quintessential summer palette, don't you agree?  I've rounded up a few goodies that fit this natural aesthetic that I'm loving lately; from an insanely gorgeous wooden, two-tiered jute chandelier (that I can totally see hanging above my kitchen table) to my favorite faux coral, an adorable children's rattan lounge chair and a bunch of beautiful accessories, all of these picks are simple but add so much warmth, texture and interest to any space!

Rope chair / Oversize clam shell / Capiz pendant light / Bar cart / Rattan ice bucket / Round serving trays

Jute chandelier / Framed sea fan / Faux coral / Raffia coffee table / Children's rattan chair / Basket

Rattan charger / Burlap vases / Faux coral / Black agate coasters

Hope you're all off to a great start this week!

fab finds from furbish

Furbish Studio is one of my favorite home boutiques to pop into whenever I'm in Raleigh and I always check out whatever new goodies owner Jamie Meares has in stock online.  She's got quite a few items I'm loving lately and, as is typical with me, when I started putting them all together, I realized once again I'd picked everything that was blue and white or rattan! I guess if it ain't broke....!  I'd happily take one of each of these and I absolutely NEED that bolster pillow:

Tortoise mirror / WTF bolster pillow / Happiness ginger jar / Rattan bar cart / Coral /

Large blue and white bowl / Splatter lamps / Swirl vases / Hanging rattan chair
