attic inspiration: tamara kaye honey

We've been dragging our heels about finishing our upstairs bonus room for a while now, but after seeing LA-based interior designer Tamara Kaye Honey's STUNNING attic-turned-master bath remodel in the latest issue of Lonny, I've got stars in my eyes and major motivation to get my butt in gear!

Beautiful brass accents and warm wood pieces look absolutely amazing against crisp white floors and paneled walls, and the oversize Sputnik-style chandelier and campaign-style vanity are sheer perfection.  I love how most of the space is dedicated to the bath, rather than the bedroom itself, and, with all that natural light and cleverly planned use of all the nooks and dormers, there is a major cozy factor here that usually is hard to come by with a bathroom of this size.

How AMAZING are those brass fixtures??

Placing the shower in the dormer is such a dramatic touch, not to mention a great use of the space.  And those unlacquered brass fixtures are simply divine.  I would NEVER EVER come out of this room, if this were mine:

Here are my picks for getting a similar look:

A fabulous, oversize Sputnik-style chandelier (this one is super affordable!):

A wood and rope chair like this one would add a ton of texture and warmth to an all-white space:

Bamboo pulls in brass, of course:

A big, fluffy sheepskin rug is a must:

A campaign-style dresser like this one would certainly fit in a space this big and be perfect for storing fluffy towels and displaying perfume and jewelry:

And speaking of fluffly white towels, this set from Target is chic, affordable and the texture adds so much interest:

Happy Thursday!

wednesday wish list: unconventional valentine's day gifts

Valentine's Day has never really been a big deal around our house; I think the hubby has actually only been home to celebrate three, maybe four times, so it tends to be just another day for us!  But that never stops me from putting together a wish list of lovelies for the occasion! In honor of the day of love, I thought I'd share what I'm loving this week - no pink or flowers here; this week I'm coveting classic shapes, pops of black and white and lots of gold accents, the perfect, albeit unconventional, gift ideas I'd love for Valentine's Day or "just because" for that matter.  Here are my picks this week:

LOVE the size and shape of this mirror from Terrain; at five feet tall, it's definitely a showstopper!

These striped jersey sheets come in a bevy of beautiful color options and are SO incredibly soft!  Come to momma.....

Love the champagne bamboo frame on this sea fan; this would be an easy diy, too!

Target does it again with this gorgeous shiny gold flatware set at such an unbelievably affordable price point!

You can never have enough candles; love this scent.

I'm obsessed with these agate bookends, which were featured last week on One Kings Lane; they aren't available anymore, but if someone finds them elsewhere, please let me know!

I'm such a sucker for anything monogrammed and these "anchored at sea" notecards are giving me serious heart palpitations!

This sweet, gold heart dish is a perfect candy dish or bedside spot for rings.

I actually have these suede ankle boots and absolutely love them!

Bold black and white chevron stripes with gold velour backing on these throw pillows are a beautiful way to add some drama to an otherwise neutral space!

What are you coveting for Valentine's Day?

sugar paper now at target + a fab studio tour

My love for stationery goods from Sugar Paper runs deep, so I was beyond thrilled to see that their line of calendars, planners, datebooks are finally available at Target in a bevy of color options! (The aqua and gold colorway is calling my name!)  With Christmas right around the corner, these pretties would make perfect stocking stuffers or gifts for coworkers, but hurry.....they are only available through the end of the year and once they're gone, there is no more.  Here is a little sneak peek of what's in store:

And while we're at it, why not take a little stroll through Sugar Paper's fabulous new studio?  I'm loving the bold black and white striped accent wall and the pops of gold and fucshia (hello, yummy gold polka dot wallpaper!), not to mention their fabulous gallery wall and crisp white shelving.   Such a beautiful space to design, create or greet guests, it's no surprise Sugar Paper's studio is as pretty as their paper goods:
